Today we were able to wake up for church - it's so nice not to be so jet lagged! We took the tube in our Sunday clothes and walked the rest of the short way to the Hyde Park chapel. It's fun for the kids to have a different experience going to church. They loved knowing that this was where Jen and Patrick met, and as you go in the lobby of the church, it's really more of a visitors center than a lobby. There are touch screens and films running, and we saw Patrick on a couple of the films. Anyway, despite being nervous about this, Goose and Suse were fine by the time we picked them up from primary. Zelle and Abby thought it wasn't very different from church back home, and I couldn't believe how many Ameicans are in that ward. It seemed like Americans make up the majority of people.
After church, we had a "picnic" under our outdoor umbrella table in the light rain on our little patio. Then everyone just enjoyed reading, resting, playing, so it was a peaceful afternoon. After dinner, we decided to take a quick walk to some grass we'd seen, but you couldn't get in, so we just walked a little further to see the river. As we crossed the bridge, we saw a park and decided to check it out. It's called Battersea Park - know it, Clint? And it was the best park ever! There was tons of open space, lake, tennis facilities, and the coolest playground. The girls were in heaven. There was an obstacle course and zip line, and some huge big kid slides. We only wished we'd found it earlier in the day! By the time we walked the mile and a half or so home, it was pretty late...it was a great day, and we're so thankful for the amazing Dads in our lives. How we love and appreciate them!
